Tale of Louis Otieno’s fall from grace to grass

Former news anchor Luis Otieno’s predicament has left many journalists debating claims that the late Careen Chepchumba borrowed heavily to sustain his lavish lifestyle.
At the height of his career at KTN, Mr Otieno owned three top of the range cars, a range rovwe and two Mercedez Benz, which occasionally caused confrontations with his colleagues who complained of lack of parking slot they are entitled to at the basement of I&M building.
At one time Mr Otieno nearly went physical with Lilian Muli over parking space after he parked his two Mercedez Benz on Ms Muli’s space.
The falling from grace to grass of Mr Otieno has elicited debates in newsrooms on the need for journalists to venture into income generating activities to avoid such misfortunes.
“Journalists should start investing to avoid a situation Mr Otieno has found himself in,” a senior journalist was overhead saying in one of the newsrooms.
Hosea Kili, the farther of the late Chepchumba, however, is a man under siege after the former news anchor claimed that he sexually harassed his daughter.
It was understood that it was a top secret that Mr Kili was not the biological farther of the late Chepchumba and the revelation of sexual harassment were pointers that he was just a step farther.
On Tuesday, more revelations were made at the inquest, when a close friend of Mr Kili’s family revealed that the relationship between Mr Otieno and the late Chepchumba was sour due to heavy debts.
“She had come to borrow money when she opened up to me what she was going through. She informed me that she was in relationship with one Louis Otieno, a famous person,” Paul Ng’ang’a said.
